The food in Macedonia is pretty much the same found in the rest of the region: cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, onions and potatoes...and if you eat meat and sausages, there's plenty of it. Also on order, local trout, which is fresher than the 'fresh' trout you can expect in Pristina. Surprisingly, the best things served seem to actually not be included on the menu.
Speaking of the menu, a difference in the Macedonian gastronomic experience is the restaurant menu. This appears to have been standardized throughout the region, with a sort of common form in all restaurants with all possible items, with the price in Dinars written in next to the items they actually have.
